    FCPX Transition Effect
Hi. I am working on a project for a Salon and I am searching for a shearing transition effect (scissors going horizontally and vertically across). Any idea where I might be able to find a plugin or the easiest way to create one. Thanks in advance.

Hi Jonas, You can create your own transitions for FCP X using Motion 5 (available via the Mac App Store). You can find out all about how to do this in the following course: http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/motion5201-crafting-final-cut-fx-templates Highly recommend checking it out! And you can read more about this first here: http://www.macprovideo.com/hub/final-cut/fcp-x-a-quick-guide-to-adding-and-modifying-transitions Hope this helps! R

Keep in mind that you'll have two layers for that effect. One for each side of the cut of the image by the scissors. The trick to making this easy, is set up the original layer, then create a Clone Layer of it. Then the images in both layers will match up easily and stay that way.
