Panning audio in iMovie?
Hi there, I was making a little vid of me playing my gee-tar, and I had only one mic going into my Duet. The sound came out only on the left side. Is there any way to pan this into the center via iMovie, or, if not, to move the audio into an audio app (like Logic, or Soundtrack Pro), center the audio, and then re-sync it to the video? Seems like a lot of work for a simple thing. Thanks, Glenn

Hi Glenn, When recording using a single input into iMovie you should get a mono signal as opposed to a left or right channel signal. You could either complete the movie & export it or export the all audio and reimport it into iMovie. Best way to resolve this is to export either the entire movie or just the sound using the Share > Export using Quicktime option. Import the movie or just the audio into Logic or STP and use the Gain plugin to switch the signal to mono. I'm not sure that an equivalent tool exists in Garageband... You should be able to set up the input signal using Maestro... can't test this as I'm not near my Duet at the moment. Hope that helps Rounik

Oh, it was just a demo of me playing my new 'Inspired By John Lennon' Epiphone 'Revolution' Casino. Rock and Roll, Baybee, yeah!

Thanks for your interest, but I haven't put it up yet. I am going to play with it a bit more in Logic first! Also, I may do a serious review of the guitar, and, so, may start over. Glenn
