how to work with FCPX and motion5 together
hi I've bougt, wached and 'learned' the whole motion5 course (101-105) on my ipad... really helpfull stil one question I've bougt motion5 to create some music-synced 'flashes' of shapes into my sports videos. like you can see in this ski movie on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj2fjQHzXDM in the course it becomes clear how to make and animate all those things but, how do I make it interact with my FCPX? do I have to render a motion sequence and then open in in FCPX or do I have to export it as a generator into FCPX or do I import a piece of video where I want those 'flashes' in and make it in motion5 to export it later back to FCPX or is there another way I'm a bit confused here the music sync is really important

I would start in Motion with a "Final Cut Effects" template. Make the shapes in their own Group. Apply the Oscillate behavior to the Opacity parameter. Make the Wave Shape "Square", them publish the Speed parameter. So then in FCP X you simply apply the effect to any video clip you want and adjust the speed of the flash. If you need music sync exactly and the above method won't work, bring the clip and just that section of Music into Motion, apply the Audio behavior to the Opacity parameter. Perhaps create a Range around just that segment in your FCP X timeline, export both video and audio. You'll end up with only that section as a QT file Motion can work with.

hi, BenB I've missed some extra courses for motion5 there is an IOS-app what contains all the lessons I've downloaded first lesson per lesson. you cannot download all lessons separately so now I've seen them all, it becomes much clearer and my question is solved within the lessons steven
