It all starts with getting your footage into Apple's FCPX! Learn the basics of importing and organizing your clips in with expert editor and instructor Michael Wohl.
Back when desktop video editing was just a sparkle in every film editor's eye, Michael was busy creating Final Cut Pro. Learn Final Cut Pro from one of the original designers of this incredible piece of software!
Whether you're importing footage from tape-based or file-based cameras, DSLRs or even recording live, this course gets you started off on solid footing. And once your footage is imported, Michael then explains FCPX's new improved file management system where you learn all about Libraries and Events.
You see how to best use the Browser and the protocol for creating and deploying Keywords and Collections. Then there's Marking clips, Fancy selections, Keyword ranges and all kinds of powerful search and filtering tools to help you find and organize your clips.
Michael buttons up this course with a series of tutorials explaining Metadata, Face Recognition, Smart Collections and Advanced searches to help you further manage and deploy your footage.
...and when you finish this course, be sure to check out our complete collection of FCPX courses covering all the new features and enhancements in this powerful new release.
Working with Final Cut Pro X is fun but challening. That is caused by the vastness of the program. Following the new ccourses by M. Wohl just make it so much easyier.
And even more fun.

So great to find this course. I was having major basic questions about media management that I was unable to find answers for. This course answered many of my media management basic questions with real world answers. The pace picked up as we went along and the keyword ending wrapped a good encouraging ending leading me to continue to the next level with my FCP X editing. I had tried FCP X when it came out, did not like it, used Premiere Pro. Wow with the release of the new MAC PRO I am back trying to edit again with FCP X. This course is helping me very much to get up to speed. Where I need to be. Thanks.

I really liked this intro to organizing clips in FCPX. I thought it would be boring, but it really is essential to graps these concepts before diving into FCPX.

Great job and especially useful with the new 10.1 file (Library, Event, Project) structure. I really liked the tip on backing up the whole SD card. Also keyword explanation was very good. Michael is so easy to listen to...he makes you feel like you're sitting down with a good friend who has volunteered to help you!
